The entry requirements listed here are our offer for our 18 months postgraduate state certified midwifery training programme.

To become a professional midwife at the National School of Midwifery Freetown, successful applicants will need one of the following degrees:

  • Diploma in Nursing (SRN) which takes 3 years to complete and 2 years of relevant postgraduate professional experience.
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nursing which takes 4 years to complete and 2 years of relevant postgraduate professional experience.
Applications for the 2018 state certified midwifery training programme will open in January 2018.

The application form for admission to our 18 months state certified midwifery training programme can be purchased at the National School of Midwifery Freetown, PCMH, Top Floor of the Domiciliary Wing, Fourah Bay Road, Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Please submit your complete application as explained on page 2 of the application form to the National School of Midwifery Freetown, PCMH, Top floor of the Domiciliary Wing, Fourah Bay Road, Freetown, Sierra Leone.

After successful completion of the 18-months postgraduate training programme, a state certified degree will be awarded.
